Series: Birds in danger by Carl-W. Roehrig Ever since 1991, new works on this topic were created. The artist, who had been painting animal portraits very successfully for various renowned magazines in the 1980s, started his series of endangered species in cooperation with the WWF, which at that time took on patronage for this project. These works got a lot of attention due to their technical brilliance and masterly perfection down to the last detail. For these illustrative paintings it was important to the artist, to reproduce the beauty of the birds at the highest level of detail and without any artistic interpretation. In this context Carl-W. Roehrig commented: "Nature is probably the greatest artwork on earth." |
